Meet the People Behind Bebiotica

A team united by science, nature, and a shared respect for bees.

We are Bebiotica.

Bebiotica is pioneering bee health innovation with a clear mission: to protect bees, strengthen colonies, and secure the future of food.

Bees pollinate nearly 75% of the crops that feed the world. Yet their populations are in decline worldwide; stressed by disease, pesticides, and poor nutrition. Without bees, our food systems and ecosystems are at risk.

That’s why we develop science-backed nutrition for bees. Our natural, proven formulations give colonies the resilience they need to thrive, helping beekeepers safeguard pollination, biodiversity, and the food chain we all depend on.

From laboratory research to hives in the field, we combine decades of expertise in biochemistry, biomimicry, and sustainable beekeeping. Together with beekeepers and scientists, we are building a future where bees can flourish, and with them, so can we.

Our Regeneration Philosophy

A regeneration-first company, inspired by nature’s own design.

At Bebiotica, we go beyond sustainability; we believe in regeneration. Where sustainability seeks to maintain, regeneration seeks to restore. It’s about giving back more to nature than we take.

Bees are the ultimate regenerators.

Every flower they visit, every colony they strengthen, every crop they pollinate; they rebuild the living systems that sustain us all. By helping bees thrive, we are not only protecting nature; we are renewing it.

Rooted in biomimicry and biochemistry, our science harnesses the power of natural defense mechanisms, such as zinc and enzymes, to strengthen bees’ immunity, resilience, and vitality. We translate decades of research into regenerative impact for ecosystems and food security.

We see regeneration not as a goal, but as a responsibility.
And at Bebiotica, we lead that movement, one thriving hive at a time.

Our philosophy is deeply inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s holistic view of nature, education, and bees. Many of our team members share a connection to Steiner’s ideas and the Waldorf school system, shaping how we see both beekeeping and life.

In his famous ‘Bees Lectures,’ Steiner emphasized that bees are more than pollinators; they are vital to ecological balance and a symbol of humanity’s connection to nature. He highlighted their rhythms, social structures, and role in sustaining life, urging practices that respect the bees’ natural tendencies rather than exploiting them.

This philosophy continues to inspire our approach today, promoting sustainable beekeeping, natural harmony, and deep respect for the bees’ wellbeing.

Michele

I'm Michele, residing in Bologna, Italy, captivated by nature's marvels.

My chemistry journey began at 13, exploring minerals and distilling aromatic plants. Five years ago, I embraced beekeeping, aiming to shield bees from viruses and parasites sans toxic or synthetic elements. I specialize in integrating essential trace elements, vitamins, carbs, and proteins into bee nutrition using a biomimetic approach refined over 11 years. My discovery of the bees' world started by mimicking a fraction of their pheromones, inviting them onto the roof of my lab, allowing me to observe and listen to them closely daily.

My two daughters closely follow the journey of our bees and involve them in school projects on the local Steiner/Waldorf school they attend.

Fabio

My name is Fabio, I was born in Bologna in 1972. And thanks to my work I had the opportunity to follow my passions: botany and bees.

Since I was a child I grew trees, shrubs, flowers, and everything that sprouted, and at the tender age of 10 it was surprising to see my first swarm of bees attached to one of my little peach trees, I still remember that indelible moment. I don't know how many trees I have planted to date but inevitably when I go around Bologna I look at the trees I planted in that garden. Then came the bees and their home the trees. My beekeeping teacher told me one lesson: observe them.

My daughter is attending a Steiner/Waldorf school where I am closely involved and teach about the life and routines of the bees.

Giuliano

Experimental beekeeper, innovator, and Varroa specialist

Beekeeper since 1984, he dedicated himself to experimental beekeeping starting in 1998, aiming to address the critical issues in the sector. He initiated a selection and genetic improvement project to combat the varroa problem and virosis transmitted by the parasite. Simultaneously, he conducted a selection process to eliminate key pathologies.

Since 2007, the Stracci apiary has operated without acaricide treatments and biological practices to eliminate varroa. The incidence of other diseases is nearly non-existent. The selected bees are not only productive and prolific but also exhibit minimal tendency to swarm.

He pioneered a beekeeping technique that boosts overall hive production and increases the annual production of artificial swarms.

Entrepreneur, amateur beekeeper, and father of three

Hey there, I'm Michaël, based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, living with my wife and three wonderful boys. I'm driven by a passion for crafting eco-conscious solutions that champion sustainability and nurture our planet.

For the past 12 years, my focus has been on material science, delving into the potential of the natural trace element zinc across diverse materials and applications. Our deep insights into this element's role in the immune system inspire its integration into bee nutrition—a crucial step in supporting these vital creatures.

Beyond work, I'm hands-on as a dad to three boys, all attending a Steiner/Waldorf school, where I actively engage. I also enjoy tending to bees as an amateur beekeeper.

Silvia

Food safety scientist, explorer and lifelong learner

Greetings, everyone! My name is Silvia, and I proudly call Vicenza, Italy, my home.

Since I can remember, my insatiable curiosity has been the driving force behind my quest to unravel the world's mysteries. Science, in all its wonder, has captivated me since childhood.

For over 15 years, I've delved deep into the intricate realm of the food industry, navigating the dynamic landscape of a third-party analysis laboratory. My journey has led me to collaborate closely with various production companies, where I've played a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of their products. Through meticulous oversight and unwavering dedication, I've assisted these companies in upholding the highest standards of quality and safety, safeguarding both the market and the consumers they serve.

My passion for science and commitment to excellence continues to fuel my professional endeavours, propelling me forward on a journey of discovery and innovation in the realm of food safety and quality assurance.”
